expand your skills

“TUrn on the bright lights.”

—Paul Banks

Notice the chart entitled Clarks’s Sector Model . The yellow line represents secondary industry employees (i.e. tradespeople.) As you can see, numbers are plummeting.

What does this mean for you?

If you are a business owner, it is becoming more challenging to find skilled workers. If you are a property owner, construction costs and project lead times continue to increase.

We can help.

What aspect of construction would you like to learn more about?

Nielsen brings over 30 years of industry experience coupled with time spent in teaching, public speaking, and non-profit construction projects. He is excited to offer educational services in the form of instruction, consulting, and training for individuals and crews, as well as public presentations at trade shows.

Nielsen has worked with many excellent carpenters and technicians - some were good teachers, some were not. He learned about carpentry from the good carpenters and learned about teaching from both the good and bad teachers.  He aims to teach people about carpentry the way he wishes he had been taught.

Nielsen has worked with educational video producers such as M.T. Copeland, presented for companies like JLC Live, Marvin, and Kuiken Brothers, and has trained crews for reputable builders including Jon Beer Contracting, and T&T Home Services. His work has been featured in trade journals like The Journal of Light Construction and Fine Homebuilding.

Nielsen enjoys imparting the lessons he has learned over the last three decades to help others expand their skills.
